8th Grade
Last night, the A team hit the road to face off against Heritage, navigating a week filled with injuries and illness. Despite the challenges, our girls showcased their resilience and competitive spirit. Bree was a powerhouse in the back row, keeping plays alive and excelling in serve receive. She led the team with an impressive 21 digs and boasted a solid 2.1 passing average. Hannah and Zoey complemented her efforts with 5 digs each, while Julietta and Caroline contributed 4 digs apiece. Bree’s determination truly shone through, proving invaluable to our defensive strategy. On the front line, Lauren was a force to be reckoned with. She not only led the team with 6 kills and 1 block but also achieved an outstanding .333 hitting average—an impressive feat. In addition to Lauren’s contributions, Bree added 4 kills, while Lucy chipped in with 2, and Zoey and Avery each tallied 1. Though the girls fought valiantly throughout the match, they ultimately came up just short of victory. However, their effort and teamwork were commendable. The Player of the Game honors go to Bree Carethers and Lauren McSpadden for their outstanding performances for their team.
The B team took to the court with determination after a week of regrouping and refocusing. Despite dealing with several injuries, the team showed remarkable resilience, coming together to pull off an impressive victory against Heritage. The first set started off slowly as the girls adjusted to new positions, but they quickly found their rhythm, edging out Heritage in a thrilling 27-25 win. The entire team was dominant from the service line, with Gabby Hernandez leading the charge by delivering 5 aces. Her serves kept Heritage on the back foot, giving her team the edge they needed. At the net, Maria Agu, Joshitha Balla, and Georgia Wheeless were forces to be reckoned with, consistently executing powerful kills that kept the pressure on Heritage's defense. Their coordination and strength at the net were key to the team's offensive strategy. With the momentum from the first set win, the team stormed into the second set, playing with heightened confidence and focus. They dominated Heritage, closing out the match with a commanding 25-10 victory to seal the game. Special recognition goes to Keira Patel, who emerged as a defensive leader throughout the match. Her exceptional awareness and timely digs earned her the title of Player of the Game.
The C team was determined to extend their winning streak this season, despite facing unexpected challenges. Several key players dealt with injuries during the week, forcing many of the girls to adapt by playing in unfamiliar positions. However, they embraced the challenge head-on, displaying resilience and teamwork as they secured a hard-fought victory against Heritage. The first set was tightly contested, with both teams trading points and momentum. Several obstacles around the court added complexity to the game, making it even more difficult to maintain focus. However, the Lady Broncos kept their composure and eventually pulled ahead, winning the set 25-18. Lydia Praytor and Lainey Wells were instrumental on defense, fearlessly diving for balls and setting up opportunities for their teammates. Their tenacity kept the team in rhythm, allowing for offensive surges at key moments. Advaitha Yerramsetty proved to be a powerhouse from the service line, unleashing a series of tough serves that earned her team 5 aces. Her precision and power from the backcourt helped shift the momentum in favor of the Lady Broncos. With the first set win boosting their confidence, the girls carried their energy into the second set. They continued to execute plays with precision, leading to another close but decisive win, 25-21. The Lady Broncos triumphed over Heritage in two straight sets, maintaining their undefeated record for the season. The Player of the Game was awarded to Quinn Penniman, who had a standout performance. Quinn not only delivered exceptional serves throughout the match, but she also shone on defense, making critical plays that kept Heritage from gaining any lasting momentum. It was her best game of the season, contributing significantly to the team’s overall success.
7th Grade
The A team delivered their best game yet against Colleyville Heritage, showcasing remarkable teamwork and determination. The girls truly came together, demonstrating their growth and synergy on the court.
Raelyn Tweed stood out with her exceptional defense, showing incredible hustle and grit throughout the match. The all-around team play was evident, with critical serves from Reagan Rutherford that kept the momentum going. Taylor Anderson made some impressive big hits that energized the team, while Abby Hicks displayed her leadership and relentless effort, motivating her teammates every step of the way.
A special shoutout goes to Mari Grottis, our Player of the Game, for her outstanding plays at the net and an incredible block that shifted the game's energy. It was a fantastic performance from every player, and we can’t wait to see how this momentum carries us into future matches! Go broncos!
B Team
The B team faced Colleyville Heritage in a challenging match, but they fought hard and displayed remarkable teamwork and resilience throughout. Although they didn’t secure the win, the girls worked cohesively, supporting one another and communicating effectively on the court.
Katiana was a standout on the back row, digging up tough balls. Her relentless effort motivated her teammates to stay focused. Claire Wagner delivered perfect passes all night, consistently setting up the Lady Broncos for powerful hits. Her ability to read the game was instrumental in maintaining offensive momentum.
The girls showed incredible grit, executing well-timed plays and encouraging each other through every point. Their determination to fight back in tough situations demonstrated their unity as a team.
Player of the Game goes to Disha Kakarla, whose positive attitude and adaptability were vital. She not only contributed to the game but also lifted her teammates' spirits, reinforcing the importance of teamwork. While the result wasn't what they hoped for, the girls can be proud of their performance and the way they supported one another. Great work as always ladies!
C team
The C team delivered an outstanding performance in their match against Colleyville Heritage, securing a well-deserved victory and maintaining their undefeated record. The girls fought hard for every point, showcasing their determination and teamwork throughout the match.
Sadie Darowski, Katherine Ton, and Gwen Evans were phenomenal behind the serving line, each stepping up to rally the team back when they fell behind.
Mariana was a standout player, dominating the court with her leadership and court awareness.
Players of the Game goes to a true dynamic duo—two players who exemplify reliability and leadership. Larissa and Brooklyn earned the title of Players of the Game for their impressive contributions and consistent efforts on the court.
