Lady Broncos dominate against Grapevine

The 8th grade C team came ready to play last night against the Grapevine Colts. The girls did a great job putting pressure on them to get a lot of steals in the first half. Bigs shot put up by Brinkley with a total of 11 points. Right behind her with 6 points each we had Erika Cervantes and Da’Nyah Gilmore. Mariah Briceno also did a great job rebounding underneath the basket. The girls have been working really hard in practice and we saw a lot of growth from them last night. Their defense went unmatched to hold Grapevine at only 6 points. The final score was 25-6 to complete the night with a sweep. Our player of the game goes to Brinkley Stephen and Erika Cervantes!

The 8th grade B started the first quarter off a little slow, but after they matched the aggressiveness of Grapevine it was game over. We had a lot of great steals from Abby Kancherla who did a great job handling the ball and seeing the court. Neeley had an incredible game with multiple rebounds, steals, and one of our leading scorers with 6 points. Abby Pison right behind her with 6 as well. Claire Mancuso and Kaley Tweed also contributed to the score with 4 points each. The girls did a great job of holding the Colts to only 9 points with a 20 point win over Grapevine. The player of the game goes to Neeley Gatlin!

The 8th grade A team took it to Grapevine last night. What a shutout game from them last night and a big win. The girls did a great job adjusting early last night, which ultimately allowed them to really have a fun night of basketball. Haley Jost had an incredible rebounding game with 14 rebounds and 7 points. Avary Campbell did an exceptional job handling the ball and “breaking ankles” and contributed with 10 points and 4 rebounds. Amber Coffey had a knock out game with 25 points and 6 rebounds and led with 5 steals. Abby Webb with 6 points and an incredible job on defense. Great job to our girls sweeping Grapevine. Player of the game goes to Haley Jost for her outstanding game and best game of the year.

The seventh grade C team was motivated after watching A and B teams’ domination of Grapevine. Emma Patterson and Ellie Aguirre led with 3 steals each. Everyone on the team contributed to the winning score of 16-2. However, player of the game goes to Lydia Praytor. Her hustle and defense were key. She finished the game with 2 points, 2 steals, and led in rebounding with 3.

B team started and ended strong despite being short some players. Kinsley Darrow made a great debut, with her first game on B team. She had 4 steals and led with 3 rebounds. Abigayle Thompson, Quinn Penniman, and Sathvika Mohanasundar each contributed 4 points for a true team win with a score of 24-6. Player of the game goes to Keira Patel with 4 points, 4 steals, and one assist.

The 7th grade A team traveled to Grapevine ready to take care of business! The girls played well together with excellent passes and teamwork. Georgia Wheeless led in scoring with 10 points, mostly on fastbreaks. Caroline Crawford and Nicole Jimenez led in steals with 4 each. The boards were dominated all night by Avery Bishop with 7 rebounds! The Lady Broncos won 31-15. Player of the game is Avery Bishop with 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 5 assists. They are preparing to take on the North Cougars in the new year!
