The 8th grade C Team was excited to play in their first district game of the season. They came out strong and got a quick lead against Colleyville. The girls had been working on rebounding all week and they did a great job executing. Da’Nyah Gilmore and Chenoa Bell led the team in rebounds and steals which gave the girls the opportunity to score. They held onto their lead throughout the whole game, but unfortunately fell to Colleyville 18-20 at the very end. Player of the game goes to Chenoa Bell for scoring 14 of the team’s points.

The 8th grade B Team started off slow in the first quarter but got locked in after the first 6 minutes. They had been working on shooting this week and they were not afraid to throw up shots. Each girl attempted multiple shots. Saanvi Chintaam and Abbie Pison were our leading scorers with 4 points each. In the end, they fell to Colleyville 19-24. Player of the game goes to Abbie Pison for having basically all of the rebounds for the team.

8th grade A team started off strong against Colleyville in their season opener. The girls have been working on executing their traps in the press, and moving their feet on defense all week. They executed just that in their game against Colleyville in the first half giving them a 15 point lead going into the second half. Abby Webb, Avary Campbell, and Amber Coffey (Triple A) worked the front of the press and contributed with a total of 22 steals. Avary leading with half of those with a whopping 11, she’s quick yall. Avary did a great job seeing the court and delivering beautiful assists for her teammates. Amber also had a killer game and was lights out from anywhere on the court. She had almost half of our team's points with an amazing 27. They could not stop her! Avary contributed 14, Claire Wenzel with 6, and Abby and Anya Ankam with 4 each. The girls shut Colleyville down in the 2nd half by playing clean defense to keep them off the foul line and walking away with a huge win of 55-40. We are so proud of these girls starting off season with a BANG! They will take on Grapevine next and hope to deliver the same smackdown. Player of the game goes to Amber Coffey.

The 7th grade Lady Bronco C team started and finished in a fast break frenzy. Despite their best efforts, the C team was unable to keep up with the Colleyville Colts and the game finished in a 14-20 loss. Lydia Praytor led the team crashing the boards with 5 rebounds. Lydia and Harper Fiveash also led in scoring, with 4 points each. Other scorers were Marin Melton and Aarya Rajendra. The player of the game goes out to Kinsley for her hustle on defense. She led in steals with 5, but also contributed 3 rebounds, and 2 points.

7th grade B team started off slow, but started to kick it into high gear towards the end of the game, a little too late, ending the game in a 9-18 loss. Top rebounders were Quinn Penniman and Abby Thompson with 4 each. Many players were able to score in the game: Abby Thompson, Keira Patel, and Quinn Penniman. But, the player of the game goes to KB Farinde for her hustle and heart. She led the team in steals with 4, and also contributed 3 rebounds and 3 points.

The A team competed in a back and forth battle against a tall, scrappy Colleyville team. The game unfortunately ended in a 27-34. Every single Lady Bronco contributed to the score with all players scoring at least one bucket!! Maria Agu fought hard under the basket and led in rebounding with 10 and Nicole Jimenez contributed the most assists with 4. Caroline Crawford was named player of the game for her outstanding defense and hustle. She also led the team in scoring with 14 points, 2 steals, and 1 rebound. The 7th grade Lady Broncos are ready to take on the Grapevine MS Ponies on Monday!
