The 8th grade Broncos B team faced their cross-town rivals North in a battle to see who would end up as city champs. East jumped out to an early lead thanks in part to a Ben Alford rushing touchdown. The Broncos later extended their lead on an Owen Kling fumble recovery in the endzone to put the Broncos up 14-0. North made the game interesting before halftime, cutting into the Bronco lead, making it 14-6. East proved too much for the Cougars and won the game 22-13 thanks in part to a Jake Johnson interception return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. Players of the game are Owen Kling and Jake Johnson who both scored for the Bronco defense. Super proud of the 8th graders and earning the title of city champs.

The A team came out ready to play and was full of energy from the get-go. The Broncos jumped out to an early lead thanks in part to a fumble recovery and the Cougar two-yard line. Jackson Echols scored 2 plays later giving the Broncos the lead 6-0. North came back in the 2nd quarter with a couple of touchdowns and took the lead into halftime 16-6. After a fiery halftime talk the Broncos came out motivated to get a stop on defense which they did. The 3rd quarter say a back-and-forth game and the score didn't change with North still leading 16-6. The 4th quarter saw the Broncos with the ball and a chance to cut into the Cougar led. Sammy Calvin connected with Diego Rodriquez on a 30-yard pass to the 2-yard line. Next play Jackson Echols punched it in the endzone cutting the Cougar lead to 16-14 after Deigo Rodriquez made the PAT. The Broncos forced a 3 and out and North punted the ball away to the 50-yard line. With 3 minutes to go and a chance to win the game the Broncos didn't hesitate at all. Jack Kniff scrambled out of the pocket to find Jackson Echols on a 35-yard gain. North forced East into a 4th and inches and the Broncos bucked up behind their huge O-line to pick up the first down. With 27 seconds to go on the Cougar 1 yard line Jack Kniff scrambled to the left and found Deigo Rodriquez in the endzone for a Bronco touchdown and a 22-16 lead. The game ended with a Rodriquez interception and a Bronco win. Players of the game are Jackson Echols and Diego Rodriquez.

The Broncos finished the season as city champs for both grade levels after going a combined 8-0 against North and West. The coaches are super proud of the boys and the hard work they showed all year. Congrats guys!!!
