The 8th Grade Lady Broncos began the season with their first game against Pike. The C Team got off to a rough start falling short in the first set. However, things turned around during the second set with good communication & defense from the team. Emery Staab and Kendall Graves helped win the second set with phenomenal serves. Talia Furler and Karis Robinson also contributed with notable passes. Emery Alonzo made her debut as setter, allowing Mia Schuller and Mariana Duran chances to hit at the net. Despite their hard work and effort, the Lady Broncos lost in the final set. Player of the game goes to Emery Alonzo for her swiftness on the court and positivity throughout the game.

With many returners from last year, B Team was determined for a win. Although they fought hard, the Lady Bronco lost the first set but had a turn around during the second. Newcomer, Adrija Kaushik displayed her skills as a setter, allowing for teammates Laney Bass and Molly Crawford to land hits against Pike. Claire Keith and Adwitha Challas showed excellent defense and hustle along with terrific serving by Anneesha Biija. Overall, the Lady Broncos showed great heart and their efforts led to victory as the team won the final set 17-15. Player of the game goes to Adrija Kaushik for her hustle on the court and willingness to step up as a second setter.

Wrapping up at the end of the night was A team. These ladies went out hungry for a victory. During the first set they had great efforts in keeping up with Pike by keeping the score close. Shout out to Emma Praytor for her great serving to keep the Lady Broncos alive. Pike came out with the close win for set one. Set two started off strong with great hustle and ball placement. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough this time to take down Pike’s spot serving. Player of the game goes to Emmalee Sheppard for her incredible hustle on the court to keep any ball alive.
