The East 8th grade Broncos took on crosstown school Coppell West on Monday night in their second to last regular season game.

C team jumped on the competition fast, leading 20-1 at halftime. Sujay Rao had a big night starting the game with five points. Brandon Veail once again played major minutes and polished the glass for East. Sebastian Duran and Aiden Sasser both had a big second half, scoring 8 points. Liam Spiller played relentless defense and scored 4 points as the Broncos cruised to a 39-12 win over the Wranglers. Player of the game is Brandon Veail

B team entered the night with a spotless record and looking to keep their winning streak alive against rival West. Zander Montgomery played phenomenally on both sides of the ball, scoring 7 points in the 1st quarter alone and wearing out the Wrangles on defense. Jack Campbell Taylor, Erik Maucher and Judah Mullican all played solid on the post. The Broncos hit 9 three-pointers as a team on the night thanks to John Jack Taylor, who hit four 3s. Charlie Meyer had a pair of threes as well and played his best game of the season. East never looked back, stampeding the competition 58-21. Player of the game is Charlie Meyer

A team took on a scrappy West team that caused problems for the Broncos in the first half. At multiple points in the game, East trailed West but fought their way back. Thanks to Jaelon Germany and Sibu Socks, East went on run to end the first half 32-24. The second half East kicked their defense into high gear as they held West to 8 points in two quarters. Richard Wu was stellar on defense and also hit a pair of threes to finish off the competition 53-33. Player of the game is Richard Wu

Next Monday, January 31st East takes on archrival North in their final contest of the season. B team is aiming to finish a perfect 12-0 (9-0 in district) while A-team aims to lock in a #1 seed for the district tournament. Please come out and support all three teams in their final game!! Go Broncos!
