The 8th grade East Broncos took on the Carroll Dragons last night in the final road game of the season.

C team played a hard-fought game thanks to relentless pressing on defense and a great job running the court. Sebastian Duran led the team in scoring with 8 points, splashing a pair of threes and shooting 100% from the line. Brandon Veail had barely a minute’s rest as he played post all night. Ben Yau (5 points) and Liam Spiller partnered to provide constant pressure up top and Aiden Sasser contributed a pair of threes. The Broncos hung with the competition the first half but ultimately couldn’t hold on as they fell 40-27. Player of the game is Sebastian Duran

B team entered the night undefeated at 6-0 atop the district standings. In the final road test of the season, the Broncos started out slow trailing by two. Thanks to a big 2nd quarter from John Jack Taylor (11 points) and Zander Montgomery (20 points), East took the lead into halftime 27-25. East played lock down defense in the 3rd quarter holding Carroll to 4 points total. Nigel Sankoorikal (9 points) was cool under pressure as East won 51-40. Player of the game is Zander Montgomery

A team matched up with a Carroll team that had the same record at 6-0. The Broncos responded to the challenge with their best quarter of play on the season, scoring 25 points. Jaelon Germany scored 9 points in the first quarter on the way to 25 points total on the night, while Sibu Socks scored 20 points. Levi Owira and Andrew Chung played lockdown defense, each drawing charge. East proved they were the better team as they won in convincing fashion, 68-46. Player of the game is Andrew Chung

The Broncos play their final two games at home against West and North. Come out to Kyle Shaw Arena and watch the boys play. Go Broncos!
