The 8th grade boys basketball team took on the Dawson Dragons at home on Monday.

C team struggled out of the gate against the Dragons. Landon Colby was a bright spot as he scored six points, along with 8 rebounds and big hustle plays on defense. Jack C. Taylor also contributed offensively, scoring 4 points and polishing the glass with 7 rebounds. East battled hard the last quarter in an attempted rally, but ultimately fell short 26-13. B team looked to pick up its 4th win of the season against the Dragons. Led by Nigel Sankoorikal and Zander Montgomery, the Broncos ended the first quarter leading 11-9 before blowing open the game by scoring 19 points in the 2nd quarter. Judah Mullican had a strong game at the post, and Andrew Chung contributed huge on the wing as both players finished with 8 points. The offense was complimented by hot shooting from the Splash Bros, John Jack Taylor and Matthew Russell as East triumphed 50-28. Player of the Game is Andrew Chung

A team was on a mission to run the competition out of the gym. After trailing early in the game, East turned it on and finished the first half leading 41-9. The night was highlighted by relentless defense and rebounding from Jaden Todd (8 pts) and hot shooting from Lazar Medenica, who returned to the lineup after battling injury. Jaelon Germany and Sibu Socks were rock solid as always as the Broncos cruised to victory. Player of the Game is Jaden Todd

East travels to Wilson next Monday to take on the Wildcats. Go Broncos!
