The 8th grade East Broncos traveled west in an early-season test versus the Lions of Leo Adams Middle School.

C-team scrapped back in forth against Adams. Aiden Sasser led the way with 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and more importantly with gritty defense. Mike Fischetti was reliable running point, and Justin Beane proved he was up to the task of playing big as he polished the glass. With the Broncos down three in the 4th quarter, Liam Spiller splashed a clutch three to tie the game at 25. The Broncos battled hard in overtime, but ultimately lost by two 27-25. Player of the game is Aiden Sasser for hot shooting and lockdown defense.

B-team looked to avenge last year’s loss to Adams and did so in convincing fashion. Zander Montgomery led the way with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Nigel Sankoorikal handled the ball well, while Judah Mullican played solid at the post and shot 66% from the line. Jack Taylor played big, hitting a big three and a smooth floater from the field. The Broncos pressed the Lions and ran them out of the gym, winning 36-27. Player of the game is Zander Montgomery for finishing at the rim.

A-team entered Monday night’s game hoping to position themselves for a district title run. In a crowded and rowdy gym, the Broncos started the game on an 11-0 run thanks to Sibu Socks (10 points) and Jaelon Germany (16 points). Levi Owira played big and contributed another 9 points. With the Broncos leading by one to start the second half, East blew the game open and controlled all aspects of the game. The defense was sharp and locked down the Lions as East triumphed 42-38. Player of the game is Jaelon Germany
