In the 7th grade division, Natalie Yowell was able to show off her vertical skills by tying for first place in the high jump and clearing a height of 4'8". While Lexi Patton was running what most consider to be a long-distance race, she sprinted the last 150 meters and across the finish line in her 5:48 mile run to become the meet champion. Sophia Williams showed out in another brilliant performance as she set a PR and easily clenched first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.2 seconds.
The East 8th grade girls fought hard against 2 very competitive opponents. In the first race of the evening, Mallory Sherrer took the lead and held her position for the entire 2400 meters. She finished with a final time of 9:39, earning 10 points for her team. Claire Pafford ran an impressive 68.1 second 400 meter run; outplacing all her opponents. The 4x400 relay team, Summer Chen, Landry Sherrer, Mallory Sherrer and Claire Pafford, took first place against the Dragons with a final time of 4:24 and just 4 seconds shy of breaking the school record. Cambry Smith had another impressive shot put performance and earned the blue ribbon with a throw of 32'10".
